Persib Bandung has officially introduced their squad for the BRI Liga 1 2024/2025 season. A total of 30 players were unveiled at the Pesta Rakyat Persib event held at GOR C-Tra Arena, Bandung, on Sunday, August 4, 2024. During the launch event, five new players were presented to the Bobotoh supporters. The new signings include Mateo Kocijan, Dimas Drajad, Adam Alis, Gustavo Franca, and Mailson Lima. This season, besides competing in BRI Liga 1, Persib will also participate in the AFC Champions League 2, following their BRI Liga 1 championship win last season. Along with presenting the complete squad for the 2024/2025 season, Persib Bandung also released the players' jersey numbers and the new team jerseys. Persija Jakarta began their BRI Liga 1 2024/2025 campaign with a dominant performance. They defeated Barito Putera 3-0 in their Week 1 match at Jakarta International Stadium on Saturday (August 10, 2024). Gustavo Almeida shone brightly, netting a hat-trick with one goal in the first half and two more in the second. This result places Persija alongside Persib Bandung and PSM Makassar at the top of the table, each having secured significant victories.

Persija Jakarta attacked from the outset. Almeida opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a header that was deflected by Buyung Ismu. Barito Putera responded by creating several chances but failed to equalize before halftime. Barito Putera continued to press in the second half, but it was Persija who increased their lead with a penalty from Almeida in the 71st minute. PSBS Biak has signed numerous new players, featuring a group of foreign players from Argentina. PSBS Biak holds the status of a promoted team in BRI Liga 1 2024/2025. The Pacific Storm was promoted after winning Liga 1 in the 2023/2024 season, defeating Semen Padang in the final. PSBS Biak has assembled the best talents from Papua to compete in BRI Liga 1 2024/2025. Jem Kelly Sroyer has been brought in from Persik Kediri. Todd Ferre, Donny Monim, and Yohanes Kandaimu have also been brought back. Among the foreign players, Julian Velazquez, Gabriel Esparza, and Abel Arganaraz will make their debut in Indonesia. They all come from Argentina, like coach Juan Esnaider. PSBS Biak has made changes to their coaching staff. Regi Aditya, who led the Pacific Storm to promotion, cannot continue with the team due to licensing issues. His position is taken over by Juan Esnaider. As a player, Esnaider had a notable career. He has played for Juventus and Real Madrid. Additionally, the Argentine also played for Atletico Madrid, Real Zaragoza, and River Plate. As a coach, Esnaider has previously managed Getafe. In the first game, Madura United was held to a draw by Malut United, while PSM Makassar secured a decisive victory over Persis Solo. The 1-1 scoreline remained unchanged until the final whistle, with both teams sharing a point. Meanwhile, PSM Makassar hosted Persis Solo at the Batakan Stadium in Balikpapan. PSM's new foreign recruit, Nermin Haljeta, made a significant impact by scoring twice, in the 23rd and 32nd minutes. In the second half, Persis attempted to fight back but struggled to break through PSM's solid defense. Instead, PSM extended their lead in the 74th minute with a fantastic solo run by Rizky Eka Pratama, finishing with a shot that Muhammad Riyandi could not stop. The final score was 3-0 in favor of PSM, placing them alongside Persib Bandung at the top of the BRI Liga 1 2024/2025 standings.
